WordCamp Houston is just around the corner. The keynote speaker is none other than WordPress founder Matt Mullenweg.
I was in Austin last weekend visiting family, and it seemed like everyone I met was involved in the IT/Internet industry in some way or another. Not so in Houston. This will be a great chance for Houston WordPress enthusiasts to meet and exchange ideas.
I also recommend joining the Houston Interactive Marketing Association for internet related events year round.
In honor of the upcoming event I’ve re-posted one of my more popular blog entries about customizing your Wordpress site using a free plugin on WordPress
According to CNN.com, smart phone traffic is up 139% this year. If your WordPress site doesn’t have a way for smart phone users to easily access your site when they’re away from a computer, you’re missing out on a huge opportunity to attract mobile visitors and convert them into customers.
Adding the WpTouch Phone Theme Plugin to your site takes just minutes thanks to a newly created application available on the WordPress dashboard. Follow these easy steps and you’re on your way:
- Click on this link: Wp Touch phone Theme Plugin to go directly to the WordPress Plugins section to download the application. (From the Word Press dashboard you can also find the plugin by going to: Extend –> Plugins -> WPtouch iPhone theme.)
- Click the Download button to download the application to your computer.
- Install the plugin and activate it on your WordPress site.
- The admin panel allows you to customize the appearance to match your site’s theme and to enable users to switch back and forth between the plugin view and your regular site.
There are a million ways to customize this theme, but out of the box it will work just fine for your site.
That was easy wasn’t it?
