What is the most effective way to run a Google AdWords campaign?
You’ve got two options:
- Spend a bucketful of money buying generic terms like “life insurance” or “dui lawyer” with extremely low click through rates
- Spend considerably less on targeted words that will bring you relevant customers and greater ROI (return on investment for those in Rio Linda)
Your best bet is obviously Option #2, but how do you choose those “targeted words”?
First, you need to do some research. Let’s say you sell custom designed plastic pocket protectors. Find your top three competitors on the net.
- pocketprotectorsrus.com
- geekpocketprotector.com
- reallycoolbutnotsogeekypocketprotectors.com
Next, go to Google AdWords, and run ads that will appear on the website whenever anyone types in those three domain names. If your customers are Googling those URL’s (which they do, believe it or not) they are highly likely to click on your ad.
Best of all, most keywords that are URL’s are extremely cheap to buy. You’ll not only achieve your placement goal, it won’t cost a lot.
