Email Newsletters: How to Incentivize Your Visitors to Sign Up

Of course the easiest way to increase  sign ups for your email newsletter is by offering the visitor a reason to join the list in the first place, like great content that they don’t want to miss. But if you want to really move the straddlers off the fence, give them a reward for allowing you access to their inbox. You don’t have to spend money. You can give away a “Top Ten Ways to…” list or an ebook “How to guide…” covering your market niche. Or you can run a contest asking for their suggestions on a topic relevant to your website.

Notice the differences in the following email sign ups:

I would go with the email sign up on the left. 15% off one item sure beats signing up for a monthly newsletter with no offer.
